Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from plants for healing. Although the word “aroma” makes it sound as if the oils are inhaled, they can also be massaged into the skin or taken by mouth (Depending on the brand and oil). You should never take essential oils by mouth without specific instruction from a trained and qualified specialist. Whether inhaled or applied on the skin, essential oils are a great alternative treatment for infections, stress, and other health problems. Not only can they be used for physical health, they can also be used for mental and emotional stress as well.
During a massage, I can add Essential Oils to have more of an multi-faceted approach. I will choose an oil to use based on what you like, as well as what you are experincing in life. Do you have stress? Anxiety? Been having headaches? Whatever it is, I will choose the appropriate oil.
